ELECTROCUTED.

LINESMAN KILLED. A FATALITY AT DELUDING. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. 3 FEILDING, Jan. 6. Joseph Southee, a married man with three children, was electrocuted this afternoon. Death was almost instantaneous. Southee was an employee of the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board and was engaged with a gang on the work of changing over the local system, which had previously' been owned by the borough. Southee was working near the top.of the pole when he came in contact with •, live wire. He fell back on to tlie other wires, which lie grasped' for a few seconds. .His rescue %vas immediate, but attempts at resuscitation failed. A doctor on arrival a few minutes later could only pronounce life extinct. This is the second fatality in Feilding amongst employees of the Powei Board within twelve months.
