Wellington’s first innings in, the Plunket Shield) match with Canterbury concluded this morning, the total being 497. At the lunch 'adjournment Canterbury had lost two wiclcets for 10 runs. AUCKLAND V. OTAGO. AUCKLAND, Jan. 2. The Auckland v. Otago Plunket Shield match was resumed to-day in fine weather on a slow wicket. The batting of the Auck’anders was very dull, Smith taking an hour and a half to add 34 runs. Anthony was first to go. being caught at the wicket off Torrance. Prater was run out after making 13, while Plaver ancl Cooper were together at the luncheon adjournment, with the score at 289 for six wickets.
