SYNTHETIC WOOL.

TWO FACTORIES. FINANCED BY BRITISH CAPITAL. BY CABIjE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON. Dec. 31. The Morning Post states that the two manufacturing concerns connected with synthetic wool are financed mainly by British, capital, though one is situated in Italy and is believed to be a subsidiary company to one of the largest Italian artificial silk firms. In appearance the wool resembles ordin-. ary sheep’s wool, but it possesses a sheen. It is being extensively made into cloth combined with sheep’s wool, the mixture presenting a distinctly pleasing appearance: In preparing artificial wool fibres two to six inches are worked into the yarn like sheep s The Italian company is manufacturing under a German patent, but the British company is producing the material in a different manner and is not affected by any foreign patent. Hie price of synthetic wool in the United States is from a quarter to half the price of the real article.
