VITAL STATISTICS.
THIS YEAR’S FIGURES. FOR HAWERA DISTRICT. The vital statistics kept by the registrar at Hawera show that the excess of births over deaths increased the local population by 175, which was one less than the increase in 1924. The figures correspond very closely, there being a. decrease of three births and two deaths. Marriages showed an increase of six, or approximately nine per cent. The 'figures for the years 1925 ami 1924 were as follow:
The figures for the month of December are as follow, those for the cor. responding month of last year being given in parentheses: Births 16 (18), ■deaths 10 (9), marriages 6 (7).
