AUCKLAND MEETING. OPENING DAY’S RESULTS. (BY TEIjEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Dgc. 28. The Auckland Trotting- Club’s summer meeting opened to-day in finie weather. The track wasi in good order and there was a very large attendance. The totalisator handled £83,785, compared with £80,030 10s on the corresponding day last year. Results: Introductory Handicap; 1-J miles —4 Nelson Boy 1, 8 Kolmar 2, 12 Bon Bon 3. Won by half a head, six lengths between second and third. Time, 3.40 4-5.
December Handicap; 14 miles Jewel Pointer 1,2 Nelson Mac Cormack 2, .17 Huon Grattan 3. Won by a neck, a length and a half between second and third. Time, 3.26 2-5. Auckland Trotting Cup; 2 miles—2 Nelson Derby 1, 7 Audacious 2, 0 First Carbine 3. Won by three-quarters of a length, with First Carbine a, length and a quarter away. Time, 4.29 2-5. Parnell Handicap; 2 miles—4 Ricardo 1, 5 Ngatira 2, 1 Silk Thread 3. Won by two and a. half lengths, two lengths between second and third. Time, 4.42 4-5. Great Northern Trotting Derby; 11 miles —1 Nant.wich 1, .1 Ayr 2,2 Willi ami the Great 3. Won bv two lengths, a nose between second and third. Time, 3.29 3-5. Grandstand Handicap; 2 miles—3 AH Bell 1,1) Scandal 2, 1 Talent 3. Won by a. long neck, the third, horse two lengths away. Time, 4.33 2-5. Rowe Handicap; 2 miles —3 Rose Bingen 1, 7 Betty Moko 2, I Peterwah 3. Won by a. neck, two and a half Lengths between second. and third. Time, 4.36. S*.
