THE BRITISH VISITORS. («Y TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) HAMILTON, Dec. 26. A four-rank ttesit -match was played between members of the British bowling team and the South Auckland clubs. The match resulted in a tie with an aggregate' of 74 each. AUCKLAND, Dec. 26. A; bowling match between the British bowlers and teams from nine local clubs on Thursday afternoon resulted in a victory for the visitors by 187 .points to 164. TARANAKI TEAM CHOSEN. CHRISTIE SHIELD TOURNAMENT. COMMENCED AT MANAIA. The annual bowling tournament anions; the western division clubs for the Christie Shield was begun at Manaia on Boxing Day (Saturday). The weather was excellent, and, as til? green was in perfect condition, a very good day was spent by the bowlers. Eight rinks, which included three from Mnnaia, two from both Opunake and Pihama and one from Ranotu Clubs, had been entered, and the first and second rounds were played in the two sections in which the teams were divided.
