TRAINING OF NURSES.

NEW REGULATIONS ISSUED. (By Telegraph.—Special to The Star). WELLINGTON, Dec. 23. Regulations have been issued for the training, examination and registration of nurses, maternity nurses and midwives under the extended provisions of last session’s Act, under which any hospital board may establish training Hospitals for nurses, with the approval of the Minister for Health. The regulations provide, in the case of maternity nurses and nndwives, for minimum courses in theoretical and practical instruction. Extensive regulations are also framed covering all phases maternity work outside of- public institutions,' the nurses’ equipment being specified and the stringent provision made that aff cases of puerperal fever shall be officially reported. Certain conditions of the patient, in connection with which medical, help must be obtained, are also specified.
