PRINCE OF WALES
A GENEROUS OFFER.
WEMBLEY GUARANTORS. WOULD SHARE THEIR BURDENS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Dec. 23, 11 a.m. LONDON, Dec. .22. The Prince of Wales, in a letter, recalls that before going to India m 1921 he appealed for a million steiling for ' preliminary work in connection with the exhibition. The Prince acknowledges the generous response ot the guarantors in fulfilling their promises in the same generous spirit in which they gave them, and he wished to share their burden in a small degree. Mr. Thomas, on behalf of the liquidators, commenting on this magnanimous and spontaneous act, emphasised that the Prince was not a guarantor and under no obligation. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
