INTERNATIONAL TRAIN. CAUGHT IN A BATTLE MANY FOREIGNERS ABOARD. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Dec. 14, 1.20 p.m. PEKIN, Dec. 13. An internaTjion.nl train was caught in the battle at Yan@ts.un. The passengers, which included women and children, took refuge under the carriages. Nine Britishers, including Colonel and Mrs. Haslehursit, twenty American’s prominent -Japanese, and also four League of Nations commissioners, who were visiting Manchuria in connection with the plague prevention, were on. the train. It appears that a Kuominchun armoured trhin followed the international train to Yangtsun, where it landed, one thousand infantry and artillery and began shelling Liehinglin’is forces acrosis the river. The legations vigorously protested against the breach of the Boxer protocol involved. It is understood that arrangements are being made to despatch a relief train from Tienstdn. The Japanese include Modhizuki, leader of the Kensrjai party and Inouye, Parliamentary undersecretary for the Navy. —(Reuter.
