MELBOURNE, Dec. 9. While two electricians, Ernest William's, aged 23, and Jeane Mac-Robert-so.il, both Americans, were lunching ata cafe a man- at a nearby (table told them not to smoke. Words followed, and Williams left the table'and walked outside.
The mail followed, and alter an argument it -is alleged that the stranger put his hand in hi.s liip pocket. V\ rlliains made a blow at -him and tried to grasp the hand in the pocket. The stranger us alleged to have pulled a revolver wrapped in a. handkerchief from his pocket and fired at Williams, the bullet piercing the heart. The stranger ran away, lmt a constable, who awls, sitting in a shop on the opposite side ol the road, pursued and 'arrested him. Later William R. Wallace, of Melbourne, was charged with murder.
