(by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Dec. 5. . Lapst (night ivas the best Friday night experienced at the Exhibition, the turnstiles registering 13,135 visitors. The attendance to date is Hgt The Hon. G. J. Anderson paid a visit to the Government pavilion yesterday. He expressed defight at the magnitude and success of the exhibition and said that the various departments make their exhibits attractive and valuable from the educational point of view. The Minister added that the Government pavilion was a worthy one and a successful attempt to show what the Dominion was capable .of producing. Owing /to |bad weather, the big sports meeting fixed for this afternoon, in connection with Girls’ Day has been postponed, but the girls’ entertainment at night in the Festival Hall will be the appearance of a girls’ choir of 400 voices, ‘and the production of Tennyson’s “Princess,” under the direction of Mrs. Scott of Edinburgh. The City Band is being engaged for five days next week, from Monday to Friday while the Argyll and 1 Sutherland Highlanders’ Band is resting, in view of heavy demands on it throughout the holiday season. The members of the band are going to Queenstown on Monday, and will he given a civic reception there on Tuesday. The Mayor of Queenstown is also organising special lake. and motor trips for the visitors.
