LOCARNO TREATIES
FRENCH RECEPTION.
PRESS COMMENT. POINCAREISM NOT DEAD. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION -COPYRIGHT (Received Dec. 4, 11.3 5a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 3.
The Paris correspondent of the Times says: “Poincareism in France is not yet. dead, judging by comment on the Locarno treaties. French Opposition newspapers .profess to bei horrified because the British Government appears willing to bury the past, aud refer in sneering terms to ‘the outpourings of brotherly love’ which accompanied the signing of the, pact.” Le Temps strikes a happier note when it says: “For the first, time since November, 1918, one has a feeling that the war is really over. We believe the London speeches will effectually lessen German uneasiness and thereby render useful service, to the great cause of the reconciliation of the people.” This undoubtedly reflects the predominant feeling throughout France. — Times.
