DRUSE REBELLION
SITUATION IN SYRIA. PEACE TERMS SUGGESTED INDEPENDENCE WANTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT. Received Nov. 20. 12.30 p.m. DAMASCUS, Nov. 19. All is quiet in Damascus. It is reported that most of the insurgents have migrated south-west towards Southern Lebanon, where the Druses have captured Merjisyun. Christian Libanose attempts to defend the villages against the Druses will quickly evaporate if the Druses appear in any strength. Druse notables state that they are wiring to negotiate for peace on a basis of complete automomy with French advisers. —Reuter.
