A fire was discovered in the steamer Clan Mackay, which recently arrived from Tonga with a cargo containing copra, silver and copper, valued at about £300,000. The bulk of the cargo had been discharged, and £60,000 worth was remaining when it caught fire. Fire floats, tugs and fire engines are flooding the holds with water.
