The Food Council reports that when the price of straight-run Hour ranges from 48s to 42. s lor 280 pounds iveiglit the price of a quarter loaf should not exceed teupeiice, Avhen Hour AA'as lioni 32s to 36s the price of bread should be eightpeiice. A variation of 4s intermediately alters tlie price of bread by one halfpenny. These prices must he considered the maximum. Many baker*'., especially Avhere trade is mainly over the counter, are able to -sell more cheaply. Further investigation confirms the statement that London bakers are charging an exorbitant price.— Sydney Sun Cable.
