"REDS" IN AUSTRALIA.
A MENACE TO INDUSTRY. ROASTS OF COMMUNISTS. '• LONDON. Nov. 2. Sii- Rercival Phillips, writing in the Daily Mail, savs : “Australia’s Red s are wrecking industry. The Red movement to capture the trade unions, which has only just begun in England, has made more rapid orogress in Australia, where .Moscow’s sinister influence is felt in ninny ways.. “Australia appears suddenly to have awakened to the grim reality of this menace. The crisis is due to the paralysing of British shipping by professional trouble-makers. The plain issue of the election is whether Australia shall he ruled by Melbourne or by Moscow. The outcome is awaited with anxiety. “If Labour takes the stage, with Moscow laughing in .the wings, the effect oil industry and business will be serious. ‘Kill industry bv bleeding it white and then make it Red.’ was the advice I heard a Communist orator giving in the Sydney Domain. “The Communists are boasting, that a Labour Federal Government will bring social -revolution nearer. They are working for the destmiction- of British institutions and the destruction of the Empire.”
