HAWERA SAVAGE CLUB.
LAST KORERO OF SEASON. There was a large attendance of members and visitors at the final “korero” of the season of the Savage Club last night, and a most pleasant evening was enjoyed by all. Amongst the visitors who delighted the audience with vocal items and anecdotes were Mr. W Gemmell, of Dunedin; Mr. L. Loftus, of Kaponga, and Mr. J. S. Barton, of Wanganui. During the evening the club had a visit from envoys of the Red Indians, bringing addresses of welcome and appropriate gifts,,-with the pipe of peace. There was altogether . a very good programme of vocal, instrumental, and histrionic items. It may he mentioned that the club intends to give at an early date a charity concert in aid of the fund for Christmas cheer at the hospital and the Old People’s Home.
