Tlie Berlin correspondent of the Daily Express says that Max Kleein, a tailor’s assistant, may be described as a man in a million, whom death refuses to claim, for be has made seven unsuccessful attempts at suicide. He first opened arteries, but was cured in hospital; then he tried drowning, but was rescued;, he fired a bullet at-.Jiis head, but missed his brain ; he jumped from the third storey of his residence, but was practically unhurt; lie tried to hang himself, but the rope broke ; be threw himself in front of a train which the driver stopped in time; finally lie swallowed a. pair of scissors, but a doctor successfully operated and removed them. —Aus.-N.Z.
