Ten per cent, and balance purchase money secured by a table mortgage at 5 per cent, interest are the terms upon which the Lands Department are offering for sale by tender a freehold grazing farm near Stratford. The property comprises 320 acres, and is estimated to carry 200 ewes and 500 steers. The proposition is well worth investigation, and readers will find fuller particulars elsewhere in this issue. Residents in South Taranaki will be sorry to learn that Mr. Steve Adamson, sen., is dangerously ill in the Auckland hospital. He was a. well-known figure about Hawera from the very early days until recently, having occupiedthe position of court bailiff for many years, and on being retired went to Auckland to live. It is hoped that Mr. Adamson’s condition is not so serious as the report indicates, and that bis many friends here will have the pleasure of seeing him again soon. Strange to say. Mr. Adamson’s son Willie, who is attached to one of the training stables, is at present an inmate of the Christchurch hospital.
