The application of the Locarno spirit to economic and industrial relationship and Germany’s intention to co-operate in the economic restoration of Europe is exemplified by the presence for the first time of a German delegation, headed by the banker, Von Mendelssohn, at the half-yearly meeting of the Interantional Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Walter Lea (England), president, in we 1 coming the German delegates, said they joined the Chamber with the assurance that they intended to participate in its discussions in a spirit of Joyal co-operation. Herr von Mendelssohn, in reply, emphasised Germany’s desire to co-op-erate in working out the great economic problems, especially those relating to the independence of German reparation payments, international conditions of exchange, and Germany’s future capacity.
