LORRY AND TRAIN COLLIDE. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 6. An empty motor lorry, driven by the .owner, a man named Boyd, was struck by a train at a, Petone level crossing. The lorry was badly damaged. Boyd had stopped while a shunting engine -passed, and then had his attention fixed on a train approaching from the ■city as he restarted his vehicle, so that he did not notice another train coming from the Hutt on the down line, and though on becoming aware of it he swerved, it was too late to avoid a collision. Boyd escaped injury.
