The Montreal Gazette prints a Quebec item, saying that there will be a. sessioix of the House of Commons within three months, according to a message from Mr Ernest Lapointe (Minister for Justice), who added that the Prime Minister (Mr W. L. Mackenzie King) and the Liberal Government would not resign office. The standing of the political .-parties to-night is as follows: Conservatives HO Liberals 100 Progressives 23 Labour - Independent I Doubtful 3 Total Seats 245 The Liberals can only (retain office with the support of the Progressives, Labour and the Independents. Cabinet will meet in Ottawa on Monday, after which there may be an announcement bv the Prime Minister.
