WAVERLEY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) At the annual meeting of the Waverley Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club the balnaee-shet showed a credit of £lO Is 4d. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr Andrews; vicepresidents,, Messrs A. G. Wallace and C. «T. Dickie; committee, Messrs R. Cathie, P. Bremer, C. Browning, 11. Brad,more, F. Tilley, Mrs Jewell and TL Slierbourne (lion, secretary and treasurer); grounds committee. Messrs, 11. Bradmore, C. J. Dickie and 11. Slicrbourne; lion, auditor, 11. Bradmore; delegate to Taranaki Association, Mr J. C. Niehnlson. Invitations were received from both Hawera andi New Plymouth clubs, extending a. welcome to local members who could be present oil the opening days of these, clubs. The annual subscription was not altered except in the case of children, their subscription being reduced from 10s to ss, with the stipulation that children were not to be allowed the use of the courts on Saturdays. A motion of thanks to the Domain Board for its generosity in donating £4O was carried.
The opening day was fixed for November 7:
The secretary stated that Mrs Mitcalfe wished to donate a trophy for combined doubles play. It was resolved, that Mrs Mitcalfe be thanked for her generosity.
