RAVAGED BY CYCLONE.
PERSIAN GULF DISASTER. GREAT LOSS OF LIFE REPORTED. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. DELHI, Oct. 24. Advices received in Karachi from Bushire state that the worst cyclonic storm in living memory in the Persian Gulf resulted in the loss of over a thousand lives and the sinking of forty vessels. Bahrein was the most affected centre. Another message puts the loss at seven thousand lives.
It is reported from Basra that seven thousand were drowned when 240 pearling dhows wore caught in' a cyclone in tho Persian Gulf.
