RELIGIOUS DISPUTE.
RIOTS IN INDIAN TOWN,

A riot at Bellary, originating in a religious dispute between two sets marching in a procession, resulted in the police ifiring. Three deaths occurred. The police showed exemplary patience, seventeen being injured through stone throwing. The deputy _ superintendent of police was badly injured.
