STRATFORD ORGANISATION

The regular monthly meeting of the executive cpmmitte was held the other day, there being present: Messrs W. H. Were, E, Mariell, M. T. Phillips, and W. I. Grierson (farm manager). Apologies ’were received from Messrs J B. Richards, P. Morresey, and K. Tarrant. Mr. Were was appointed chairman for the meeting. The manager’s report for the period ended October 14 was read, discussed and adopted, and was as follows: Fifty-seven cows are now in milk. Milk taken for the month, 40,2001 b; butter-fat for the month, approximately 16891 b; tests, 4.2 each period. The new pig paddock has been fenced off, and young pigs rung and turned out. Two new pighouses have been built. Three hundred pinus insignis trees have been planted on various part of the farm. Ploughing of ground for oats, soft turnips, carrots * and mangolds lias been completed. One portion (approximately 5 acres) of No. 7 was sown on October 8 with oats for hay, at the rate of 3 bushels of oats and 2cwt. of basic superphosphate per acre, and another portion (approximately 7 acres) of old swede ground on October 9 in oats and Scotch tares, at the rate of 2' bushels of oats, 1 bushel of tares, and 2cwt. of basic superphosphate per acre for ensilage. The stumping is being proceeded with, practically all being ready for logging up The new ground in No. 14 has been finished off and ploughed.” The matter of dehorning the cows was left in the hands of the Stock Committee, v T ith power to act. It was resolved that Messrs Richards •md Grierson furnish a report re cropping arrangements for the 1925-26 season, which were decided upon at a meeting held on September 9.
