INDUSTRIAL TROUBLES.
BETTER CONTROL OF UNIONS WANTED BY EMPLOYERS. BY CABLE —Pailss ASSOCIATION —COPYRHIGT. Received Oct. 16, 12.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 16. .Ait the annual meeting of the Employers’ Federation the chairman said that the present year might be called a red-letter/ year, inasmuch as it brought into existence the flouting of constitutional Government in some of the States and the operation of direct action and defiance of all law and order. The federation strongly protested against the proposed amendment of the Arbitration Act on the ground that it would lead the State into industrial chaos, and completely destroy constitutional and democratic Government. It also urged that steps be taken for a better control of trade unionism iby prohibiting foreigners and rebels from holding any positions in them.
