(Received Oct. 15, 9.50 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 13. There has been, a series of sensational robberies at Domingo. Merry Del Val, brother of the famous - cardinal, was robbed pf priceless royal decorations, also of jewels „ valued at £IO,OOO, from his hotel apartments. Mrs Donahue’s pearls, valued at 680,000 dollars, were stolen' from the Metropolitan Hotel. Detectives failed to obtain the faint-' est clue regarding the latter until a reformed crook . opened negotiations with them, allegedly offering to return the pearls if 100,000 . dollars reward was paid and no questions asked. ’ Following the robbery of- a Los Angeles registered mail last week, the police raided a garage at San Pedro, the depot of the supposed robbers, arrested four men',' seized 100,000 dollais worth of bonds buried under the floor, 300,000 dollars in cash, and 50 watches which were buried iri a nearby field. — Sydney Sun Cable.
