RAINY SEASON.
DELAYS OPERATIONS. WAR IN MOROCCO. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. FEZ, Oct. 14. The fact that the Franco-Spanish forces obtained all their objectives, coiipled with the advent of the rainy season, which will prevent a further advance, is mentioned in an official statement as marking the beginning of a new phase of operations, which consist of the isolation of Abd-el-Krim from the rebel tribes previously supporting him. This means the establish, ment of barriers dividing the Riff territory into compartments under the supervision of the occupation, troops, thus preventing Abd-el-Krim from rallying liis previous supporters. The campaign also provides for the construction of (roads iandl mother communications to facilitate FrancoSpanish co-operation. The statement refers to the readiness of numbers of tribes in the eastern district to submit, facilitating the occupation of large tracts of territory, while the tribes under the direct command of Abd-el-Krim have recently been resisting most feebly, which may be due to a plan to conserve force!, for a big attack at a particular point, though it is thought that the tribes generally are losing their warlike enthusiasm.
