NORMANBY.

METHODIST ANNIVERSARY. A very successful concert was held last night in the Town Hall, Normanby, in connection with the Methodist. Church anniversary. On the previous Sunday the Rev. Mr Blackmore, of Kaponga, preached to large congregations! in the morning and afternoon, and last night the programme consisted of a gymnastic display by the members of tiie Hawera Boys’ Club, which reflected great credit on, the leader, Mr E. Yearbury. This part of the programme was interspersed by items provided bv. Mr Y. Thomas and his quartette party, 'some of which were very interesting, and the party was frequently recalled. During the evening the secretary and treasurer of the. trutt, Mr R. H. Clement, read the annual report, which was well received. The programme was as follows: Quartette, Waiata Four; vaulting horse, Boys’ Club; song, Mr Hulbert; parallel bars, Boys’ Club; quartette, Waiata Four (Messrs Thomas, Hulbert, Dowdle and Carter); monologue, Air B. Johnston; ciub swinging, Mr Yearbury; duet, Messrs Thomas and Squire; mat tricks, . Boys,’ Club; story without words, Air V. Thomas. Refreshments were provided by the ladies of the congregation.
