GIANT CARRIERS. WASHINGTON, Sent. 24. Work has been completed on the giant aircraft carrier Lexington, which will he launched at Quinc.v. Massachusetts. on October 3. Its length is 888 ft. beam 105 It, and displacement 33,000 tons. It is electrically driven, and will have a speed of 33 knots. It can carry 72 ’planes, like its sister ship, the Saratoga. Tiie navy’s third aircraft carrier, the Langley, ca2rries 25 ’planes, and the three can thus move a fleet of 109 ’planes.
