MANAIA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) . OBITUARY. It is with deep regret that I have to record the death of Ida Mary Grace Sutton, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Sutton.' of Manaia, at theage of 18 years. Deceased was taken suddenly ill on Sunday morning and died at night. She had lived her whole life in Manaia and was educated at the Manaia school, and was a favourite with all who knew her. Mr. and Mrs. Sutton (who are old identities of Manaia) and their family are held in high esteem, and the citizens of Manaia and district extend to them their deepest sympathy in their sad bereavement. DANCE AT KAPUNI.
The euchre party and dance held in Kapuni hall on Friday night, in aid of tlie Manaia Convent school building fund, was very successful. The prizes lor the euchre were won by Mrs. M. Blown and Mr. M. Joyce. During the evening several guessing competitions were got off. and the following were the winners of the various’ prizes: Bed, Nolo Franlden; suit, Mr. Wright; trousers, Mrs. Scott; dolls, Maureen Cosgrove; trousseau. Miss Whalen; torch, S. Russell; lingerie set, K. Sanclford. A first-class supper was provided, and excellent music was supplied by Misses M. Long, C : . Vine, and others.
