QUEEN CARNIVAL.
CAMPAIGN NOTES. Quire a considerable amount of goods lxad been delivered at the country candidate shop next Poison’s Art Shop in High Street, when the shop opened business and promises had been received for a great deal more. With the fresh merchandise from the country, the shop day is almost certain to have a successful result. The tug-of-war contest- this evening is creating a great deal of interest in athletic circles, and each candidates committee is very desirous of its team se-„ curing the victory. The pulls are certain to be interesting and will attract a large audience. A delightful musical programme will also be given, so an enjoyable evening is promised. The sports’ candidate’s committee is calling a meeting for next Friday evening, and all sports supporters are invited. The object is to form a larger working committee than is at present in operation. Such a large number of functions are in view that the present committee find that it is difficult to cope with the great amount of work. The Amateur Athletic Club’s fancy dress dance in aid of the sports candidate on Wednesday evening promises to be a very successful function. Invitation holders and friends are invited.
