WELLINGTON RACING CLUB. (BY TELEGRAPH. PRESB ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. The Wellington Racing Club made a profit of £6252 on the year. The stakes totalled £38,850, which is £7350 less than the previous year. Government taxes amounted to £45,290, or £584 less. The “tote” receipts were £77,384. a decrease of £1428. Nominations and acceptances also show a falling off of £1386. The new stands are almost complete, and when finished are expected to be as good as any in Australia or New Zealand. The club voted £3OO per annum for five years to the widow of the late secretary (Mr Whyte).
