ATTACK ON EXTREMISTS.
BY BRITISH LABOUR LEADERS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYItIIiGT LONDON, Sep. 24. The Lalxmr correspondent of the Daily Express says the leaders of the Labour Party intend to directly challenge the Communist left wingens at the party conference at Liverpool, which is regarded as the most critical in the party’s history. There will he a preliminary deliberate spiking of the promised Communist attack on Mr Ramsay MacDonald by the publication to-day of a confidential report, on the Zinovieff letter affair, in which the investigation committee will declare that Mr MacDonald was justified in all his actions. He had l no alternative but to accept the genuineness of the letter, though later evidence suggests that it was bogus. The official side of the party is planning to check the extremists at every turn at Liverpool, as it is felt the inertia of the right wingers at Scarborough allowed the Communist wing to score tactical successes in the Trade Union Congress by the passage of extreme resolutions.
