In the Assembly, Mr. Jones, Minister for Mines, said that Australia’s policy should be established secondary industries. VThe ove>-p nod tuition in coal, -.sugar and meat was due to the fact that there was insufficient people here to create a market. He did not believe the bringing of, people here would create unemployment, for that reason he would urge labour organisations. to adopt a bold immigration policy. it would he of advantage to Australia to accept a certain number of people from Britain in return lor a certain amount of British capital invested in industries. Mr. Jones said he hoped the day would come when the Labour Party would wipe out state governments and have one national government.
