TE KIRI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) After this week starting with a nice day, to-day (Wednesday) is about as bad as we have had, both with wind and rain. Opunake was very fortunate in having its spring show ou Monday, and also the Mahgahume people, who held a mart at Opunake that day in aid of their queen. They had a successful day, selling Tight out early in the afternoon. The local schoolmaster was very successful in Opunake, gaining 11 firsts ■and 1 second. His blooms were considerably knocked about with the hail on Sunday, or he would' probably have had even greater success. We are hoping for nice weather for our school show "iext Monday evening, and also for some neighbouring schools to compete. A dance >will be held, and there will be stalls, with possibly a brantub. A class for recitation has been added to the schedule, with good prizes I hear there are quite a number of cars going to Pihama for the dance on Friday evening, which is in aid of our queen Anyone desiring a seat should let Mr. Palmer or Mrs. Wemyss know. ,
