’ PRICES AT BURNSIDE. (BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Sep. 9. The notable thing about the Burnside sales to-day was the high price of fat cattle, the rates fop .which were quite on a par with those of two weeks ago. It was said by some to be the highest sale of the season. Sheep, oil an irregular sale, brought prices that showed no great change. Store cattle were somewhat dull, and pigs sold well. Fat Cattle. —There was a good demand at an advance of £2 a head. Extra prime heavy bullocks realised £24 5s to £26 17 s 6d, prime £2l to £22 17s 6d, lighter £ls 15s to £l7 10s, extra prime heifers £l7 12s to £2O, prime heavy cotvs £l4 10s to £l6 10s. Fat Sheep.—Extra prime heavy wethers made from 52s to 55s 6d, prime 43s to 45s 6d, lighter from 39b, prime heavy ewes from 39s to 425, lighter 30s to 35s 6d. Pigs.—Prices were very high. Porkers were up 10s and stores and baconers ss. Baconers sold at from 84 dto 9d and porkers to 9§d per lb.
THE ADDINGTON SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, Sep. 9. At tot-day’s Addington market there was a keen -sale for fat cattle, and a better one than for some weeks lor store sheep. Fat sheep failed to hold recent values. Store Sheep.—A recovery in hogget values, some well-woolled half-bred owes making 39s 6d. The first ewes and lambs of the iseaisom were forward and made 18s Id (all counted). Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers, to 365; prime wethers, 46s to 50s; medium wethers, 42s to 45s ; light wethers, 37: to 41s; extra prime ewes, 47s lOd; prime, 32s 6d, 37si to 40s 6d; medium erwes, 33s to 365; light eiwe®, 27s to 325; prime hoggets, to 445; ordinary hoggets, 30s to 38is. Fiat Clartitae. —Extra prime heavyweight steers, .£24 10s to £3O 17s ad; prime heavyweight steers, £2l to £24; medium weight prime steers, £l7 10s to £2O 10s; light ,steers, £l4 10s! to £l7: rough steers, £ll. 10s to £l4; extra prime heifers, i,o £l7 3 7.s 6d; prime heifers, £l3 10s to £ls 10s; ordinary heifers, £9 10s to £l2 10®'; extra prime cows, to £lB 2s 6d; prime eoiws, £l2 15s to £ls; medium oowis, £lO to £l2 10s; light cow.s, £lO to £l2 10s; light cows, £8 .to £lO 10s; rough cows, £5 12s 6d to £7 10s.
