The National Council of Women considered that the Dominion president should not be .a president of a branch during; her term of office. The following rem/its were adopted: That jin the .interests of prisoners generally, especially women, women be appointed to the Prisons Board; that the Government be urged to put into effect’ the recommendations of the coimniiissionensi in its report in reference to mental, defectives and sexual offenders; tlifalfc the Public Health Department be advised that the Council considers that further measures should be taken to ensure more hygienic methods of distributing meat, milk and bread; that the attention of the department be again draw.n, to tfijb difficulties of women travelling with children and travelling alone, fat principal stations and at functions, owing to the difficulty in obtaining porters to deal with 'luggage. It is suggested that licenses he issued to outside porters.
