WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. A strong deputation from the New Zealand Alliance waited on the Prime Minister this morning and laid before him for consideration certain matters bearing upon the question of licensing ■egislation. The Prime Minister told the deputation that Cabinet would consider the question of amending the present law c-his session, and he would issue a statement in the course of a. few days.

With reference to Nurse E'.sie ‘Mait:and. who was found seriously injured on the Mt. Albert tramline, an Auckland message states that she was employed at the Gisborne Hospital, am 1 gave her mother’s address. The Gisborne police have been advised that the ■oung lady is in a serious condition, and have been asked to advise her relatives. Inquiries made, however, have not enabled them to get- -in touch with anyone who knew Miss Maitland. The i.s not known at any of the local hosipto-ls, and no one of that name can he found at the address id yen. One fact established is that a Miss Maitland •?ft for Auckland by the steamer on Saturday.
