AMATEUR TOURNEY
(liV TKt i-'ORAPir. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 26. The Dominion amateur boxing championships were continued this evening before a very poor attendance. Results:—
Flyweight.—C. Wood (Wellington) 7.10 beat J. A. Leckie (Otago) 7.10. The referee stopped the bout in the first p ound. Leckie was beaten at the end of a minute, but Wood could not send him to the floor.
Featherweight.—T. Griffith (Otago) TO beat I'. Donovan (Napier) 8.1,0; L. Black (Christchurch) 8.10 lost to M. Carroll (Mauawatu) 8.13. Bantamweight—L. Taylor (Auckland) 8.1 beat C- Brosnahan (Ashburton) 8.2; 8. Nesbit (Wellington) 8.1 lost to W. Weston (Tnna.ru) 8.0. The second match was a very poor exhibition of the’ fistic aid, wild swings charaeterisii(r the work of each. In the last round Nesbit .was groggy, but lie managed to weather the storm. The decision in c avour of Weston received a mixed reention. Lightweight.—F. Morgan (WellingL pnV 9.0 heat W. Col’odge (Waihi) 9.12; N. Moulin (Christchurch) 9.6 lost to Y. R, Fulcher (OtagoV 9.6. Welterweight.—W. Robertson (Gisborne) 10,3 lost to E. Armishaw (Auck’and) 10.7: J. Pauli (Otago) 10.2 lost to R Love ridge (Wellington) 10.6. Middleweight.—C. Gardiner (Christchurch) 11.1 lost fp. IV. Stevens (Na-->ier) 1(1.10: C- Pocock ( Ashburton) 10.13 beat C. Martin (West Coast) 10.9. Li "lit heavvweight.—R. F'tzsimmon c ''Wellington) 11.13 beat D MiteheT ''Frankton Junction) 11.7: Y.
