Received Aug. 26, 11.20 .a.m. BRISBANE, Aug. 25. The Sydney Maru was refloated .without assistance, and is proceeding to Rabaul. Only s’iglit damage was sustained by the vessel. She is leaking slightly. SYDNEY, Aug. 25.

The steamer Woosung Maru is rushing to the relief of the Sydney Maru. Details show that the latter-’s stern is. held firmly on a coral reef, outside of which are' 100 fathoms of water.

The passengers and cargo are safe, and the weather is favourable. r lhe Woosung Maru is expected to reach the stranded vessel to-night.
