THROWN FROM MOTOR CYCLE.

FATAL ACCIDENT

HALF-CASTE KILLED

The body of James Coffey, a halfcaste, of Raliotu, aged 25, was found on the Main South road near the Oaonui factory on Friday morning last near an overturned motor cycle. The bodv was removed to Rahotu by Constable Brenchtey. The motor cycle, which was found about 18 yards from the bodv, had the lamp smashed and the handle bars twisted, and the wheel marks on the road suggested that the machine had skidded. The inquest was held at Rahotu on Saturday morning before Mr T. Hughson (acting-coroner), who found that “deceased met his death on August 21 by being thrown from a motor cycle.” —Opunake Times.
