SYDNEY, Aug. 13. Amongst the first men to enlist in New South Wales during the war weio the brothers Myers—-James, John, William and ThomasI—-who 1 —-who hailed from the Newcastle district, 1 All were wounded, and two of them —.James and John —are sheriff’s officers attached to the Supreme Court of New Souith Wales. r Recently Miss Ivaitb Myers, a sister of the Myers brothers, died. Her father, Mr. ’J. Myers, lives in the Newcastle district:) Upon looking through the deceased girl’s papers a lew days ago her father found a leittei showing that she had Spartan atI - mlh nd'PS The letter was 'from the medical officer >aib the Randwiek military hospital, and iit thanked Miss Myers lor her generous and self-sacrificing otter t.o submit herself for grafting or blood transfusing purposes, in order to prolong the lives of suffering and debilitated Australian soldiers. At the date ■ when Miss Myers received the letter she was living at Balmain. and was 'actively interesting herself in the alleviation of the sufferings of invalid A.I.F. men. , She did not want any publicity for her spartan offer, 'and even withfio' knowledge of it from, her soldier brothers, of whom she was proud.
