BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY, Aug. 24. The wholesale price of butter lias been reduced by 9s 4d to 177 s 4d per cwt. The cleaner, Herbert Wilkinson, who was locked, in a refrigerating chamber in a butcher’s shop at Darlinghurst, was suffocated by the rush of liquid ammonia from a burst turncock. The ammonia saturated his clothes and vapourised, suffocating him before he had time to escape. This is the first fatality of its kind in Sydney. MELBOURNE, Aug. 24.
