WEDDING.
MU I,LIG AN—O’BRIEN. On Tuesday morning, July 21, a very large crowd assembled .at St-. Mary’s new church, Opunake, to witness the wedding cf Catherine Magdalene, fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs O’Brien, of “iVloynoc,” .lhaia Road, to Air Thom a<3 A ovstis Mulligan, youngest son of Airs and the late Air M.' Alulligan, of County Meath, Ireland. The ceremony and Nuptial Atass were celebrated by tho Rev. Father Kennedy. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful frock of white satin opoledo and side lace, trimmed with pearls. A court train of white georgette lined with gold tissue and edged with ostrich feather trimming hung gracefully from the shoulders. She wore a beautifully > hand-embroidered veil, held in p 1 ace by a halo of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of gold and white .lowers. The bridesmaids were Misses Josie O’Brien and Frances Alulligan.. The former wore a frock of pale gold shot taffetta trimmed with go'<l lace, and carried a bouquet of scarlet flowers, and tlie latter a frock of amethyst satin trimmed with gold lace. She carried a bouquet of pale yellow flowers. Both wore turbans to match. Little Miss Monica- Julian and Master Denis Biad-’ev. niece and nephew of the bride respectively, acted as train-bearers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr E. one of Alanaia, as best- man, and Air T. O’Brien as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, wjiere a sumptuous wedding breakfast was served. Later in tlie day Air and Airs Alulligan left by motor en route for Christchurch. The bride travelled in a brown Russian tunic frock, with coat and hat to match.
