Liiaoebunghoi, the Soviet’s member of the Canton Government, who was assassinated on the 19tli, was shot while alighting from; a motor car in front of the Kuomingtang headquarters. Fie died en route to the hospital. Guards killed one assassin and wounded another, but the others escaped. It is reported that there has been dissension, in the Labour circlets and the assassins were probably labourers. A previous attempt was made at aj labour meeting recently. Liaocbunghoi was tho leader of the workers land a real power behind tho present strike. He was Finance Minister in the National Government and was three times Governor of Kwangtung. He was also violently anti-foreign and anti-Oh ristiam. —Reuter.
