KAKARAMEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Friday night last a hockey danoo .was held in tho local hail, the proceeds being in aid of the hall funds. The hall was very prettily decorated in White and red, with long streamers and Chinese lanterns. Although it. was a very wet and rough, night, the hall war> comfortably filled for dancing., some 50 couples taking the floor. During the evening a waltzing competition was held, the winners being Miss Hurilev, of Hurlcyville, and Mr. W. Fitzwater, of Patea. 'l'be supper was served in the usual Kakaramea style—which means' all that could be desired. Mr. C. Lord officiated as M.C. and carried out his duties "to the isatisfaction of all. .Miss Hurley a.t the piano, and .Miss Boa gey with the violin provided very nice music. On Saturday evening the local Bible Class held a. re-union of present and past members. Tho re-union took tho form of .a. banquet, and about 80 sat down to a beautiful spread, provided by the members. A large number of coasts was honoured, Mr. Cameron acting as chairman. The tables were then • seared away and a. social held until 11 p.m. Ore at credit is due to Mr. I I listen for the time and energy he puts into the Bible Class. He is a tower of strength not only to the local < ia.ss. but also to the* Pa,tea and Alton classes. The local factory is now in full owing, and the supply is increasing daily, although it is not quite as large as this time last year. A very old resident of Kakaramea, in the person of Air. Honey* has again taken up his residence* here and is once more running the local bakery. Mr. Archie Huston, who is school teaching near Manga.wcka. is visiting his parents for the holidays.
