THREE PASSENGERS SHOT
AN INDIAN OUTRAGE. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT Received August 11, 2.5 p.m. DELHI, August 10. It is reported from Ivakori, near Lucknow, that four armed and masked Da coifs held up the guard of a moving passenger train at the revolver point, pulled the communication cord and stopped the train. The assailants were joined by sixteen others, also masked, who rifled the brake van and decamped with the cash chests, after starting the train. A Ghurka. passenger, while arming himself, was shot dead, as also was a Mohammedan and a European passenger, the latter while .attempting to come out of a compartment. An armed contingent of railway police was despatched. —Reuter.
