WEDDING.

RAMSAY—BETTS. A verj' pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Aiden's Church, Oka.iawa, on July 15, when Grace, daughter ot Mrs. M. 'and the late Mr, W. Betts, of North wood, Ofcaiawa., was married to James, eldest non of Mr. 'and Mrs. \V. D. Ramsay, of Gore. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Swainson. The bride, who wan given away by her uncle, Mr. Colin Brown, of !Tawera, looked charming in a. dainty gown of ivory panne velvet trimmed with ostrich feathers, a graceful panel failing from the nhoulklers being lined with silver tissue and caught at the side avith feather ornament. A beautiful embroidered veil, lent by a friend, was arranged with, a wreath of orange blossom buds. A shower bouquet of white and pale pink flowers and asparagus fern completed la very dainty toilet. The bridesmaids were the Misses Eileen Williams and Mol lie Betts, the former looking dainty in a frock ol' apricot silk shot' with silver, and tho latter, sister of the bride, in a pretty sea green silk, shot with silver. Both wore mauve veils with wreaths of silver ’leaves and coloured flowers. They carried! posies l of violets and maidenhair fern with mauve tulle streamers. Mr. Dave Johnston fulfilled the duties of best man and Mr. A. Ramsay was groomsman. At the 'conclusion of the ceremony a reception was held at the home- of the bride’s mother, Northwood, Okaiawa, the guests being entertained by the bride’s grandmother and mother. The usual toasts were honoured. Later the happy couple left by motor for Wanganui amid a shower of rice and confetti. The bride travelled in a fawn costume with .shoes en suite and a cherry hat trimmed with ospreys and a handsome black coney seal coat.
